Default lock up converter

I need to lock up the converter to run the 1/4. I trapped 5800 rpm @ 94 in the 1/8th. Using the dyno mph vs rpm and the calculator I'm looking at 7200 + in the 1/4 and I need to stay around 6800.
Anybody doing this and if so when are you locking up?
