Default lifting a 2WD

well I'm strongly considering lifting my old Ext cab in the near future. It needs tires pretty bad anyway. Right now its basically stock height minus a 1/4 coil cut off the front and 2" hangers in the back. I took the shackles off.

I know some of you have gone from lifted to lowered a couple times, Whats the best way to go about it? I'm only wanting to put maybe a 33" tire on the truck. Blocks and coils??? Spindle lift?? I'm guessing I need to go about 3-4" over stock??

I'll be doing a 4/6 drop on the reg cab and still need something to hunt out of. I dont have any real mud to go through so just some decent all-terrains on the stock 17" wheels will be enough, theres just a few dry creek beds, and elevation changes I cant get through with a lowered truck

3" spindles and a 2" rear block will put at a leveled z71 height, and you should fit 33s just fine.

Ride with the shocks until you get some new ones. Bilstein or KYB imo.

I do have the 2" coil spacer and brand new stock Z71 rear shocks that fit the back perfect. I got the blocks and ubolts on ebay for 45 and the spindles from rough country for ~300 I think. Also if you put the stock hangers back on the truck you'll only need a 3" block.. I still had 1" drop hangers on.

I have some stock ubolts and blocks for the rear I would be willing to part with. I'm not sure on price.

Ben you should try to stick to the Rough Country 3" spindle, I believe that is one of the few you can still run stock wheels with, w/o needing a front wheel spacer. I have a 1" daystar I never used as well. Then as far as the back maybe a 2"-3" block. Zone also started making 1.5" body lifts as well... for those who can't stand the look of a 3" and don't feel like dropping $400 after gap guards and all

That should get 33s very comfortably even with aftermarket wheels and some decent offset

I'd do spindles and a spacer in the front and the block in the back if you dont plan on actually offroading it too much. I've heard bad stuff about the spacers and blocks actually being used offroad.
