Initial impression[s]..
#1
Just spent a pile for the Mcgaughy 3/5" drop "kit" for my 08 ECSB, 2 wd.
Parts missing.. No rear bump pads. [Had to call and was told to "FAX" a copy of the bill. WTF uses a fax? I offered a scan and email..Can't do.] Gave him the bill number..Supposedly shipped them that day.
Instructions:
Ft appear to be reasonably well written. The foto to show how to cut the dust shield was blacked out.
Rear: forget it.
1 page and it was nearly illegible.. faded and so crooked it went off the paper.
Made no reference to the rear spring hanger installation. Had to call to find out.
The $50 each shocks have the wrong upper and lower bushings in them. The loose bushings are also wrong.
Am moving to the ft "kit" in the Am. Hopefully, it'll be a bit of a better "adventure"....
The upside: The parts appear to be well made, and fit well.
The advertized 5" drop is exactly what I got. Pinion angle returned to pre install specs. No vibration, about the same ride.[New shocks have tightened it a bit.]
For NE1 contemplating the purchase.... Jegs is about $100 less than Summit.[Summit charges me sales tax. So, that's part of the cost diff.]
The shocks are available from places on the net for $48.22/ea. Jegs honored that price. Thier frt of about $15.00 surely beat the snot out of the E-bag sellers $75.00!
Bottom line: If I were to do this again, I'd probably buy the same kit.
