It would be pretty hard for fluid around the rad/cooler fittings to make it onto the headers. Better check your lines all the way back.

Did you plug the unused holes in the rad?

This was my question. At least put an air hose on it and a long line on the other hole and blow out. Still plug or cover them up.

Proper connections are nice, there is some pressure in those hoses and fittings that's for sure, but clamped well I don't see a ghetto hose job leaking that bad, again as long as it is clamped good. That's why I am with looking else where, making sure the rad isn't leaking fluid everywhere.

I am glad you and the truck are okay though. Fire Ex FTMW!

why cut the factory lines?

i got the male and female hose barb fittings from advanced auto, they are made by Hayden. 5/8" inverted flare? i think
then just ran Push Lock to the cooler out front.

now i have pushlock hose on all the cooler lines from the trans to the front. but im still using the cooler in the radiator.

why are people so afraid of cutting the stock tubing? i wouldn't trust the push lock fittings, and so your basically running all rubber hose? i wouldn't run more than the necessary few inches that there is just for free movement between motor and frame, the more hard line the better.

well having done it both ways before it is in my opinion the best option. As a ex heavy truck/tractor/generator mechanic ive probably used more tube unions than most would like and they leak also. One reason is because you will have a flexable hose connecting the two ends so you dont have to bend the metal lines and vibration and heat expansion/compression doesnt come into play. Also if you want to connect you radiator back up again with the other ends all you have to do is flare that end and connect.

Rubber tranny hose is mostly rated to 300psi and above. It is plenty strong for the tranny fluid to flow straight thru it thru the cooler and back. Why are you so keen on shooting everyone else's suggestions down like you know your and everyone else doesn't. Just make your suggestions and leave it at that.

lol everyone else's suggestions? i only shot down yours, sorry to have gotten you all upset about it, it just doesn't even sound like a good idea, so i offered up my own. and about the pushlock fittings i said i wouldnt trust them, if you or anyone else wants to trust them thats their own deal, it just doesnt seem like a secure fitting to me, it relies solely on the barbs on the fittings to hold the hose on. and simply asked if he was using all rubber hose, whats wrong with that?
