Question I hate to be this guy but.....

Like the title says I hate to be this guy but I have to ask a question that's been answered a ton of times I'm sure. I've been using every bit of my free time the last 3 days searching for an answer but I can find what I need. I just sold my old rims and tires and am looking for new. I Wana run 12" wide tires on the rear and the front I don't too much care they will be skinnier. I have a 2 inch drop shackle in the rear. I've read the tucking charts on what rims I need but since I'm not tucking anything they don't much help me. Unless when I accelerate it squats enough to rub the rear fenders, I'll roll them if I have to. My question is what backspacing do I need to not rub the wheel wells/leaf springs or fenders/bedsides can I run a 10" wide rim? Thanks in advance.

I believe alot of guys on here run anywhere from 6.5 to 7" of backspacing. To make sure you would have to measure.

That backspace sounds about right... but it also depends how far your tire will bubble away from the rim.

Wheel back space, wheel width, and tire width all play into it.

With a 10.5" wide wheel In running a 295/40/20 and it cleared my leafs by about 1/2" and was about 3/4" from being flush with the fender. My rearend was narrower than stock though so I don't know the exact backspacing.

The "smaller" the backspacing the more it sticks out past the fender. I am running a 22x9 with 4" backspacing but my rear end is narrowed 2" each side and 22x9 with 6.5" backspacing up front.

The 10" wide with 6.5-7" should do well on stock rear end

Here is a good calculator to help you out

Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

You can play with widths and offsets to get the dimension and clearances you need.

I 100% understand what backspacing and offset do. This is just the first time I've ordered rims and tires for a truck that wasn't lifted. I Wana run 12" wide tires in the back because that's what was on it before and it still didn't hook
