Default I hate to even post this question....

but.. I am about to go back to 16" wheels for a while and I will be going down to a 4/6 drop... whats the widest tire I can get under there and still not have to worry about too much rubbing (a little bit every once in a while is ok I guess) the wheels are factory Tahoe wheels. (the swirl looking ones) anyone have recommendations from experience?? I know c.nash has his 4/6 with 16's and a few others... I would appreciate some help here fellas. I'll most likely be going with some grabber UHP's

you should be able to go pretty wide. that wheel has alot of back spacing...i would guess you could fit a 265 or 275 under there easily.

THX Stew.. I know tire size threads get so very annoying but I definitely dont know how to size these tires and wheels for that much drop. ... hopefully some 275's will go. I hated spinning the **** out of my 255/55 Toyos.

I have run my stockers which were 255/70/16s many times with no problems. I imagine if you went a little shorter, a 275 shouldn't be a problem. Like TXsilverado said, the wheels have plenty of backspacing. You will not have a problem getting them to tuck, but if you go too wide you will have to worry about them rubbing the inside of the fender. Eitherway, I think with a 275 tire you will be ok.

something like a 275/60 then?? I'd like to keep them relatively short... These will be my "all the time" wheels and will see some track passes most likely so thats why I want them as wide as possible.

Toyo Proxes are available in 275/60-16. I plan on getting these tires soon.

you ahve to be careful on the width cause the axle is about 3/8" offset to one side over the other (i guess that comes down to a 3/16 offset actually)

I was trying to get away from Toyos honestly and try something new... I have had 3 sets of these things. the are decent tires but they dont last for **** (esp under the punishment of nitrous and my right foot) I guess I'll have to see what I can get from General... I saw some 255/55-16's but they are only 27" tall. I know I'll have a better low end but this short of a tire with the addition of me going to 3.73's instead of 3.42's will kill my top end I think. I like going too fast still ... I just really want to try something new this time around. I have had 16"-17" and 18" toyos already... the Kumho's STX's were my next option for price and sizing... the Nittos dont have many 16" sizes I dont think.
