I hate automatic transmissions

So I had time this weekend to swap my tranny pan back to my original (that has my sensor mount and drain plug). I swapped the pan and changed the filter as well. I have doubled checked the fluid level and seems to be OK. When I pulled out of the garage, it seemed to have hardly any power to the wheels. So much so that I thought i was in neutral and double checked - sure enough I was in drive. Reverse didn't seem to be a problem. This tranny was just installed the first of April (from FLT).
what gives?

Were both the pans the same? One wasnt a deep pan and the other a shallow was it?
Might want to check and make sure the filter didnt come loose too. That happened to a friend of mine.

This solenoid is disconnected. I assume this was done the first time I removed the pan and not the second time (to review what was wrong).
Would this cause the problems I was experiencing?
