How much power are you putting through your stock 4L60e?

My 65e was doing just fine behind 7lbs of boost on my LQ9, but I was still using some TM for safety. I swapped it before it gave me any problems so I could get premium money for it. We'll see how I do with the HD2'd 80e with zero TM a lil more boost.

my stocker handled 451 for 2 weeks untill it let go

My shift kit, vet servo only 60e was in the truck for 40k+ boosted miles (30k before the turbo), 500rwhp and 12 second 1/4's (with the 4.8L), and NEVER broke. Put a $2500 fully "built" 65e in it at the same times as the 5.7L and broke the output shaft off twice, before I swapped to the 80e, . Still have the perfectly good stock 60e sitting in the corner,

full bolt ons/4:10's here. still rockin a BONE stock 60e with 135k on the clock. about 40k with bolt ons and "spirited" driving. lol.

So will servos and a shift kit help the tranny handle more power?

stock 4l60 will lasttill about 350-380rwhp in trucks and 400~ in cars

60E lasted 20k... broke output shaft's, burn clutches, and all good metal stuft in it.. my g80 still holding on..

Yeah, the vette servos cost less than $20 and will firm up your shifts and reduce slippage, but a big trans cooler is your best investment for increasing trans life. Go with a Tru Cool 40k, it's a huge trans cooler.

i installed that same cooler at the beginning of the month went in with a breeze. also the servos can be had for like $14 on ebay.

just look for oregon performance transmissions
