Default how much was the 4L60 to 4L80 swap

For those of you guys that did it how much did it cost you to do the 4L80 swap....NOT including the trans price....my dad and I were talking about just getting the 4L60 rebuilt from a good trans shop he knows.....but is the 4L80 cheaper?

I have done 2 of them now. The second one was easier and cost less to do. I paid around $45 for a used slip yoke off E-bay and I think $50 for a PCM program from Speartech. Then there was the 6 torque conv bolts at about $5 ea and the dipstick tube about $15 I think. So I have around $140 in the swap, not counting the tranny and shift kit. It is not as bad as you think.

a that in a 1500 or wwass that a 500.....because dont you need to relocate or did on to the cross member for the traanny.....I'm jusst aakin because reading about it from other people that have done it they eemed to have pent aa LOT more on it......the whole trial and error method......I remember seeing a kit somewhere for the swap but I dunno anyone who has ussed it for the swap.....I kinda need it to look clean because it i a california smog truck.....and looking on the california webite they say that using a heavier duty trans is concidered equipment from a different size vehicle.....that doesnt make sense to me.....the trans shouldnt have ANYTHING to do with the visual inspection for a smog test....but thier website says it does......

what was the difference in how it drove...did it feel slugish, or was it just more solid shifts and launches with not as much performance.....I know that the 80 robs more power than the 60 does...but how does it compare in every day driving?
