How long can I expect my 4L60E to last..........
Aside from a tune and FRAM Air hog filter the truck is stock. I've shortened the shift times and lock the torque converter up sooner. Still have the original valvebody, regularly change fluid and filter. I drive like a grampa for the most part, but do have my moments when I need to put a ricer in his place. I've heard of some folks going somwhere around 175k. Anyone have any projections...............

well mine lasted until 112k but i do put a lot of hard miles on it and a lot of high way miles. The only part i broke was the sun shell gear in the trans. Other than that i had it rebuild with a master kit and the "beast" upgraded sunshell and now it shifts and works fine.
I guess its hard to tell when its going to go.

Yeah- the trans isn't acting up or anything- I'd just like to get an idea on how long a life I can expect to see B4 accruing funds for a new unit. I've got 95k on the clock now..................

i bought my truck used with 80k miles and it had a sun shell replaced back at like 50k. ive had the truck since october and ive put 15k on it and im on my 8th trans. i drive hard but in the next couple of months im goin to do a TH400 swap. no overdrive but it will be suitable for what im going to do with the truck. its like a ticking time bomb seriously tho. the newer the trans is (model year) the weaker they will be. aluminum trans parts FTL
