Default How to install trans temp gauge 4l60e

It has to be on here some where, but i cant seem to find it.

Where can I put the sending unit for a trans temp gauge on a 4l60e?

Is there a different way to get a trans temp with out buying a aftermarket gauge? (cheaper)

Thanks for the help.

Myself I would weld a bung in the pan and install the sender. I know there are ways to use the factory sensor in the pan but forgot where i read it.
