Default How hard to drop the fuel tank?

I have an Avalanche Z-71. I have access to a lift. How hard and how long would it take me to change the fuel pump? Trying to decide whether to get a Boost-a-Pump or a Walbro 255.

the fuel pumps are easy to change in these trucks, Put it in the air, disconnect fuel filler hose, anvent hose from gas tank, and then the will be 3 lines with plastic clips on the top of the sending unit to diconnect the fuel lines. and dont forget to unplug the harness for the fuel pump After that support bottom of tank and remove the strap bolts. The whole swap should take more than 45 min to an hour tops. good luck

Run it almost out of fuel first.

You may lose some of the functionality of the fuel module with the Walbro though. Some argue that a voltage booster/stock pump combo will flow more fuel than the 255 Walbro alone. Don't want to kink any of the nylon lines. From what I have read, in your application, the addition of an external high pressure inline pump may offer the best improvement in fuel capacity while retaining important features of the in tank module.

If you do drop the tank, be sure to also disconnect any lines from the tank to the Evap module first. Most difficult/time consuming part for me was a couple of stubborn quick connects. The others all popped of easily.
