how do you remove the trans shift cable bracket

Default how do you remove the trans shift cable bracket

on a chev 1500 5.3 4x4 how do you remove the trans shift cable and bracket for a trans fluid change?The trans shop say something about taking the cable off the jacking up the trans to make clearance for pan removal and assmebly

any ideas?

there are two torx bolts on top of the bracket holding it in, loosen those or take them out and you can slide the bracket off

looked 3 times and cant find these 'torx' bits every one is talkin bout

Go by feel to locate em. They're on the top left side, reach up there w/. your hand. Use a good light & you'll see them. They screw in vertically from the top, not horizontally.

Also, most say the NSS is bonded together. If so, u need to get behind it w/. a metric wrench. You're very limited in how far u can turn wrench (it's arc). It may take awhile, but it's doable. Do yourself a favor, mark where NSS goes, don't just remove it!!! If u just pull it off, your detent points will be all kittywampus. You've been warned.

Please remove your duplicate thread, the 1 in drivetrain & susp., not the general discussion I that I just found. No sense in everyone lookin there to see no info.
