Default How do you get the power to the ground

I had just noticed I put this in the Lincolns forum thinking I'll get a lot of response LOL but at least I'm in the right place now.

I'm out in search of answers to a great question for anyone who drives a fast truck. How do I get the power to the ground with out spinning through 1'st and 2'nd and any other gears. I'm wanting to build a extended cab s10 about a 98 model with a Ls1 or Ls2 inside and a 4l60e.

With help of friends on planning of this build we ran into the issue of traction.
This thought only started as we were sitting and thinking of what we needed to do. As one of our friends showed up who already has an 4cyl 5speed s10, he shows up in front of the house then with out warning proceeds to spine through third down the block. And that is were the question started. So how am I to keep traction with a Ls motor inside a s10 if he can do that with a 4cyl.

If you got any great Ideas share them.

Real good tires, Gears, Locker, Suspension, Throttle control.
s10v8 . com is probably a good place to look for setups. Just to get an idea on what works best for a truck that light.

wider tires = bigger footprint = better chance of traction.... BUT.... hope you have lots of dinero cuz suspension mods are a must. Tub'd rear, at least 10" width wheels, adjustable 4-link, and bag'd (for cool factor as well as functionality).
