How 2 measure pinion angle?

Default How 2 measure pinion angle?

I've been having bad vibrations lately,most people say pinion angle is off.

i went and got my angler finder .

But where do i measure.? is it from the diff and trans/yoke and than subtract.???


any imput links would be helpfull, to find the correct shims and correct my pinion angle..

that link has a TON of info. In dummy terms…park the vehicle on a level ground and measure the angle of the pinion. There are several pictures in the link that bear provided on how to do this. Pinion angle is relative to a level ground with the suspension settled (no jacks or jack stands).

After setting the pinion angle, check the working angles to make sure that your u joints are all within operating range. Done! There are 100 different methods that people go by, so don’t stress out on finding the perfect answer.
