Default Help with rear diff please

ok I have come across a complete rear end out of a SSS. I have a 05 Silverado 5.3 L ccsb truck that is 2wd and it is a LS model.my truck has some very high gears in it. with drum brakes.
ive been told it has SSS rear has 4:10 gears in it and disc brakes.
will this work in my truck.
im ok to do some minor modifications but I don't want to spend 2000 dollars to put this rear end in my truck. I can get this for 300 bucks. so that's not to bad. thanks for help.
ive been searching around and it seems like some rearends are different.
thank you.

It will bolt in if that's what you're asking but it depends if it was AWD or 2WD as to what the ratio was. The fact that you mentioned disc brakes lead me to believe it was from an AWD truck and should be equipped with 4.10 ratio unless it was changed.

You may want to get the master cylinder from that truck as well. The Rear Disc may lock or wear prematurely under heavy braking conditions.

The parking brake cables will probably be different as well for your application.

Otherwise you can pull the axles and swap the drums over.

2003-2005 SSS With AWD 10 bolt with disc and 4:10 rear end

In 2005 you had the option of 2WD which came with a 14 bolt and drum brakes with 3:73. This became standard in 2006 and carried over to 2007 model.

Ive actually looked into the master cylinders when i did my rear dual piston conversion, and the part numbers were same.... May just be the retarded *** system ive been using the last 5 years, but..... Good idea to replace master if switching from drum to disc but may not be necessary..... Then again i could be wrong, but i was also mainly looking at the bigger disc brakes off the 04up with drums and earlier trucks with 4 wheel single piston rears too

The part number between dual piston and single piston is the same.

99-02 have a smaller one than 03-05 rear disc.

In 05 you 3 different options. You had with rear drum, with rear disc, and over a certain GVWR option which was also 4 wheel disc. I believe the over a certian GVRW is the 1500HD model
