i did a 2inch drop in the rear with shackles.. easy to install and adjust. the ride is not as spongy as it is stock. i corner better too. the *** dont feel so light now. shackles are around 50 bucks. i got em installed for 50. you can do em yourself in bout 45 min. if you got tools...check the pics before and after

i like it.. i see alot of 2/4.. they all look good

Sorry to dig up an old post here but I have some questions about the same issues.

I am wanting to do a 2/4 on my truck which is a 06 Vmax Crew cab 2wd. I noticed that the rear has 2 inch block in it. Cant I just use a 2 inch mcguaghys spindle up front, remove the rear blocks and add a 2 inch shackle to the combo and get the 2/4 im looking for? I might need some rear shock extenders at the same time right?

Apparently I didnt know that they had blocks on em.....can you take a pic? Does anyone know if this is just VMax specific? My crew didnt have any blocks... As soon as the rain clears for certain and I can wash my truck I will post up some pics of my 2/4.

Pretty sure its only on the Vmax. I think the vmax is basically a 4x4 chassis minus the transfer case and front diff. The vmax has torsion bars and rear blocks.

2 ways to lower the front, Re-index the torsin bars with different keys http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a...2&scid=froogle $69.95 plus front end alinement. I did it but I'm saving money for drop spindles, you loose suspension travel buy messing with the torsion bars. I was told not to lower the truck by loosening the torsion bars, the guy did not say why.

To lower the back 3 inches use these http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a...4&scid=froogle
easy to install with jackstands and floor jack.

I did mine, I also took out the 2 inch lift blocks (4x4 vortec max) for a 5 inch drop in back. I want to change from 3 inch drop shackle to a 2 inch drop. When I get all my tools in the truck, it hits the (real short) bumpstops on the small bumps in the road.

Anyone want to trade your 2 inch shackles for my 3 inch shackles?

Ohhh ok. I didnt know that. I still have a lot to learn about Chebbies. If it has 2" blocks, I would assume you can take those out and add the shackles.

Yes. To remove the blocks you have to buy the u-bols for the 2 wheel drive truck (they are shorter) I can't remember the part #, I found the bolts at a 4x4 shop for about 1/2 of what I paid at the Chevy dealer.

Lift blocks

Get them out and U will be low Holmes.
