Help me with adjustable shocks, trac bars, on my lowered truck
#21
that on the bottle ?
i finally got mine down to cutting 1.41, 1,42 NA , after dialing in the 4 link numerous times with madman i had to find the sweet spot with the shocks. to bad the 60E finally died
but it was expected after 6+ years of being beat on
how did you heat the coil ? i tried this just to run into problems the same day.
to the OP dont worry to much about the front, some cheap *** shocks will work just as good, i ran the 90/10s and they were useless to me. as for the rear end i wouldnt pull any leaf spring just add some cal tracs or smith bars whichever, clamp the leafs, get some good slicks, if youre not allowed to run a full slick try a radial slick, adjust air pressure around 18-22 i ran these before and with the high air pressure around 21-22 they worked better..
set your shocks up behind the axle, getting weight to shift in these trucks isnt easy, it takes horsepower to do so and to do it quick !

The correct equation is Pinion angle - driveshaft angle... in your case you have 96-90 = +6*....
IMO you need to drop the pinion angle at least 8-9* downward... See this article...

I'd imagine he doesn't get axle wrap and such an extreme change in pinion angle as those of us with stock leafsprings so probably doesn't point down as much as we need to.

I'm going to try out the Calvert racing adjustables relocated to the back. I'll be using the Qa1 adjustable shock mounts, so what length shock would I need to order? I've searched and can't come up with anything conclusive. If it matters, the rear is lowered 4", but I'm currently running shock extended mounts and stock length shocks. Thanks for any help.
