Default Help with 4L60E cooling lines

My 97 tahoe tranny died friday. It is the second time in 148,000. I had it rebuilt 47,000 ago. this time I decided to pull it myself. I have it ready to come out but I cant get the cooling lines out. I pulled the plastic ferrel of the top line and got the little keeper out and it would not budge. I gave up and surfed the net and see tha I need a special tool. Bought the tool at NAPA and i still cant get it out. The tranny is free and sitting on a jackstand and the exaust pipe.

Help me Obi Wan you are my only hope!!!!

The line should come out with some wiggling, you might have some dirt trap in the fitting causing it not to come out. I would use some WD40 and wait a couple of minutes and try wiggling it again, if that does not work remove the fitting from the tranny, this will allow you to get the tranny out from under the truck.

Thank you, so the only thing that hold the line in is the little keeper that was under the plastic ferril?

Is the possible that I have too much torque on the cooling line as I dropped the tranny before pulling the line?

I tried to pull the fittings, but I cant seem to break them loose either. I can fell the wrench trying to give and round over the nut. Any chance GM uses lock tight on those fittings and a little heat would release them?

Got it! There was too much torque on the line for them to release.
