good luck...mine is doing the same thing!!!! i'm trying to figure out if i can go with a powertrax locker (supposed to replace the spiders but i don't know with this gov lock ****)... everyone says trutrac but i don't do rears and need to know if i need to remove the ring and pinion to do the true trac or not..... at this rate i'm damn near ready to take it to the dealer and trade it in for a ******* ford since ford knows how to build a rear!!! i don't understand the trutrac obsession since eaton makes the govloc and owns detroit.... they're the same company... wouldn't it be the same ****?help!!!!!!

Its time for a rebuild or replacement. I don't have any part numbers handy unfortunately.

The ring and pinion definitely need to come out to do any differential install. Any of the Eaton products will work just fine.
