My 80e is completely stock. Rwhp varies between 500-650 rwhp.

I run a 300M billet input shaft from FLT. Kinda up in the air if one really needs it. I bought one because I built my own 80E so some of the labor savings I put into an input shaft. The 4L85E input shaft is supposed to be stronger than the 4L80E shaft but I don't know what the price difference is between an aftermarket piece versus an 85E shaft. Bottom line is I don't hear too many folks breaking 4L80E's including their input shaft. Not to say they are indestructable... just better at holding back aftermarket power if one is willing to do the swap.

2005 4l80e for working core $300.00
300M billet input shaft $500.00
Re-build it 1300 for my tranny builder to rebuilt it.

My tranny build say stock input shaft is only good for 500hp/500tq
He recommend its.

I'm running billet steel 300M input and intermediate shafts. Bought my stuff from Art Carr at California Performance Transmissions over here in my neck of the woods, SoCal.

Art wanted to make sure I had the strongest tranny possible, got both for $500.
