Default Going with a tru trac

Next month I'll be swapping out my G80 for a tru trac. I'm wondering if I should do a gear swap to. Could I see a big improvement @ the track? I don't wanna over gear it, my cam pulls to 6000 & I'm shifting @ 6500, running through the traps @ around 5000rpms with a 28'' tall tire.

he has 3:73s now there would be hardly if any difference in going to a 4:10-4:11 gear

you want improvement then jump a gear size

4:30s at the miminum maybe even a 4:56 gear, you plan on spraying?

I am in need of a good rear locker also, been looking at the tru trac as it seems evryone runs them,

My neighbor is a die hard jeep offroader/rock crawler nand says the tru-trac doesnt hold up for him as the 3 bolts in it keep backing out even with locktite.

He reccomended a Regular detroit locker, But it seems the tru trac works for lots of guys, any opinions O.P. ?? Just would like to hear while your going with it.

It does seem to help the bigger ext cab trucks. I could tell a good difference when i went to 4:10s from the stock 3:73s in my ext cab.

I might try the 4:30's.. As far as spraying depends on how fast the SSS gets, but I'd like to do a 75, but I'd have to leave the bottle @ home till race day! Think 4:30's would put me in the 12's?
