Thanks Cody, great info!

I feel like im trying to " get out" of building a trans. Just want to save alil if i can for now,

I just thought that since i can get one for 1580$ , and it holds up behind bolt on LS2's in AWD TBSS's and LSX 454's that It would work for me for a while as a daily driver.

Can a shift kit be put in this to also help holding power ?

Id check to see if there are any valve body modifications first, Id imagine so with it being a "performance" trans. Might also be a warranty issue if you isntall a shift kit.

The 4l60/65/70 are basically the same dimensionality. The 65/70 have beefed up internals. The 70 does have a different case as well has a ISS sensor on the front of the case to sense converter slip.

Just leave the Input Speed Sensor off used and it should fit and work with out it.

GM p/n 19244043 Price $2k or more

Straight from SDPC # 89037484. M70 4L70E superduty trans. 2280$ without Core $1580 with core return. Also comes with a stall converter , 2300 i think?

The part number tht Bo185 entered IS what is in the GMPP catalog, but for some reason it gets crossed to the number i just gave per John At Scoggin Dickey PC.

Well that is a great price and I like the warranty, but I'll bet that if you modified it with a shift kit they would void the warranty...unless of course you had the dealer do the shift kit, then they'd probably stand behind it. I'm assuming that the 70E comes stock with a Corvette 1-2 servo? How about having the dealer do a shift kit and billet 3-4 servo?

I'm also curious about the torque converter...do you have to use the one that comes with it in order for the warranty to be valid? No choice in stall speed? If you put your choice of Yank or Circle-D in there would the warranty still be good?

More good Questions!

I too am wandering what if any valve body mods are needed or could be done.

Also wander what servos are in it????

Im not going to use the stock converter IF i get this trans. Im sure my dealer will be cool with it.

Bieng im going to use a 10.5 '' converter, most dealers might not know the difference by just looking, untill they see a PINK converter LOL

But this trans is bieng sold as a "PERFORMANCE" Trans, so im sure the " scruntiny" wont be as bad as if you had a stock vehicle bieng brought in for warranty work.

Who Knows maybe one might never have a prob with this trans

I hope it works out well for you, it's a killer deal if it doesn't give you any problems

Thanks Bud, im not totally sure im going this route,

Just wanted opinions and thoughts/feedback on this trans and if it would be a viable / cost friendly option.

Just checking all avenues and options to get a good piece that will work and try to save a little coin.

Wish Zippy was still on the east coast so i could just have him build me one again!
