does anyone know what gears i would have in my truck. it a 2004 chevy 1500 sbrc with a 5.3. i was told it has a 8.6 and it a has a posi in it?

 

what would the stock gear be?

 

I have an 02 and stock gears were the 3.42's and no posi... I was the one wheeled squeeler...

Now, Yukon 4.10's and Eaton Posi pushing 20's

 

usually 3:42 unless its a z-71 then you have 3:73

 

not all z's have 3.73's my buddy has an 05 with 3.42's and its a Z71

 

Check the RPO codes in the glove box, there should be some "G" codes that will tell you if you have the locking rear diff (G80), and what gear ratio you have. There's a list of the RPO codes around here somewhere...

 

well i know i have a looking dif. the thing leave some nasty posi makes down the street lol. its not a z 71
