ok guys here is a ? for u guys maybe u all can help me out.....my truck is a 5.3 sierra with shorties, cold air, gibson exhaust, e-fans...it has ran a best of 14.5 but it seems to be losing top end...i know long tubes will help me in that department...but my ?s how much quicker would the truck be if i went from 3.42s to 4.10s? fully bolt-on here in the RGV trucks run about 14.0 14.1 so do you all think that would get me there? how good are the 3.42s w/ stock posi

But 3.42 to 4.10 would wake your truck up big time... think about a stall and tune??? I didnt see a tune in your list... thats the best thing to get.

yea it is tuned...how much difference in et would it be?? yea been thinking bout a stall just want to know the difference a gear swap would do. truck feels strong as it fully bolt but just cant seem to translate that to the track

With the ratio change, you may find it harder to hook, thus not having any real effect. When I changed from 3.42 to 4.10, my mph increase slightly (1/8). But, my 60' stayed the same because I had to roll into a little less to avoid spinning. Usually, once I began spinning, the back end began to get squirrely and I shut it down. About the only thing that is going to change it drastically is more power.
