Default Gear + Tune = ?

Old man just got a '06 cc 5.3....Question is would a mail order tune be worth the wild even though he's got 3:23 gears?? Would he notice any good bottom end difference with those gears? or would it just mainly be top end? or both? or what??

most tunes affect the hole range of rpm, so I think you will see gains at bottom and top.

Go to a 3.73 gear, then get a tune. I test drove an 05 CrewCab with 3.23 then drove my current truck and there is a Huge difference between the 3.23 gear adn 3.73 gear.

I have 3.23s and yes a tune will be worthwhile. I do plan on 3.73s in the near future.

my friend has a 06 cc with 3.23, with a tune and ran a 15.2 in the 1/4.. so for it being a 3.23 in a cc, it ran damn good...

if you are gonna do a few mods and get a tune you might as well get the mods then do a tune with the mods so it can be tuned for optimum performance. i'd get the gears then the tune IMO

I disagree. I think that you should get a tune.

check the glove box for the codes. too bad im not sure which are which. if you have an 03 with the g80 then most likely youve got 3.73 though
