Default Gear Swap

I was just wondering if anybody could answer a couple questions. I am probably going to sell my 99 2dr 2wd Tahoe in about a year. I have really been thinking about changing my rear end gear ratio though. right now it is a 3.43. My stock tires were about 29" tall and now I have 32" tires so my gear ratio is prob sitting at a 3.09 right now. If I can come by a fairly good deal on some gears, about what would it cost to install in the rear axle? Also if somebody was selling a G80 and 4.10's or 3.73's from newer models, would those fit? The only way I would do this mod is if I could do it for fairly cheap. Im trying to still save some mod money for my new silverado when I get it.

a gear swap will cost you anywhere between $300-500. And yes the g80 and gears from a newer model will fit but you'll still need to pay for install since tolerances in rearend housings can vary quite a bit.

I say you save even more money and while back there you just switch out the whole damn thing while at it... trash the gernade 80 and replace it with detroit tru-trac or one of the other ones..
