Gear brand and seller recommendation?
#1
As you can see I currently have a 5.3, 373 gear and a Radix.
This winter I"ll be doing a 6 litre or a 408 and will need more strength in the trans and rear. I'm planning a "built" 80 or 85 trans and 4.10 gears.
I'll do the gears and axle first and I'm wondering what to get. I see a lot of Eaton users. Why is that? Why not Strange or Mosher or????
I have no reason to not go for the Eaton but I'd rather buy because I know why to go in a certain direction and I'm curious who you recommend as a seller.
Thanks, Jim

Eaton is a manufacturer of differentials, and damn good ones. Strange and Moser specialize in axles and such, that is why you hear Eaton so much with the diffs. They are the best choice for the street IMO over say an Auburn.
As for gears, get the Motive Performance or OE GM gears. Both can be bought almost anywhere- Randy's, National Drivetrain, etc.
