if your only lowering the rear end 2" with shackles theres no need to wory about the bumpstops you dont have to wory about that until you step it up to 4"

I cut mine when I put my shackles on; I trimmed them about halfway up when I took the overload out; which gave about a 3in. drop. At 2in. though just look at it and see if they'd hit. I think I trimmed them with just the shackles on at the first or second notch on the bumpstop.

how does it ride without the overload spring in it. and what about shocks can you use the stock length since it only 2" or buy new shocks

I put the overload back in. It rode good but I was getting bad axle wrap. Stock shocks will be fine; you won't need a different shock until 4in. or more rear drop.
