Default floor shift 4x4

Does my truck equiped with the floor shift unit have the same t-case as the push button 4wd trucks? Assuming they have the same t-case but a different way of engaging it, is one more or less better? I have heard of and in one instance seen the push button quit working on these truck.

I'm pretty sure they are a different unit.
