So i was removing the Torque converter from My truck and i messed up pretty bad and well long story short i am replacing a flexplate today along with my new 4l65E... Ain't life great??

I got a way lighter and better one to get me thorugh.. I was pissed, supposedly these "mechanics" knew what they were doing When they took a Cutting torch to the old flywheel... Dumb asses i guess it means i am just going to have to do more of my own work when I'm not busy in College or Working...

what flexplate did you get? where are they located on the engine in relation to the flywheel? i wonder how much faster it will rev with the lighter one...

The lighter one my boss found for me and happend to be able to get it... It's lighter but i don't even know the mafufacturer.. It's not going to mkae a huge difference but A small one It's just a fly wheel...

Flexplate IS the flywheel in an automatic. Sits between the torque converter and rear of engine. It flexes slightly during the rigors of hard driving. The stock one is reasonably cheesey. I cracked mine when I put an FLT trans in so I went with a TCI. Buch beefier.

im guessing you couldnt see any difference in performance between the two? or was the difference in weight and structure cause for better performance?

Tough to say. I don't think I could tell the difference other than I haven't cracked the replacement one. I think on a V8, there is so much rotating mass that the flywheel may make little difference. I know on my KTM dirtbike, a lighter flywheel makes a huge difference in quicker reving(for lighter flywheel), I just don't think it makes a difference in a big heavy motor IMO.
