Default Filling a drained 4L80E

I drained my 4L80E while I did a 6.0L 4L80E swap. Since this transmission takes so much fluid how much should I fill it and how. Would filling it until the fluid reads on the cold level on the dipstick do, or do I have to wait until the transmission is warm and shift it around a little?

Is it completely drained, or just took off the pan and drained it? If its completely drained i think it takes 14qts, if you just took the pan off then i believe its 6 or 7 quarts. Fill it up with a couple less then that and then shift it through the gears a few times and check the level and fill as needed.
