thats the right way. spring clamps arent strictly for better traction...they help stop wheel hop if you have problems with it.

Yup, thats correct. You may even get a little more wheel spin if your tires are not up to the challenge. That is if you are 2WD not 4WD
No wheel spin here.

MR Marine, I love that sig pic of yours.
Wish I had a truck that did that ****!!!
Doesn't look like you had allot of traction issues that day.

Anyone tried the Lakewood Industries traction bars # 21710? They are only like 141.00.

I found these at Lakewood Industries site and then checked prices at Summit Racing. Summit lists them as fitting 88-98 and also 99-00 trucks 2wd. Price from summit was 141.00

Here is the link to Lakewood Industies directly.

Here is a link for the instructions which show a couple of pics installed not great ones though.

interesting. wonder if they actually work well. seems funny that it would fit the 88-98 and the 99-00.

They should work good, they dont look as good as the others, but they will prevent axle wrap I'm sure. They probably show the year break in the description so people know that they fit the newer body style too.

The Wood Hauler runs 28x11.5x15 ET Streets @ 20lbs. Still spins with the juice in 1st gear. I think some of those Lakewood bars and some CE Drag shocks front and rear will hook it hard. We will see soon.

I was reading through this post and waiting for someone to say put some sticky tires on. I don't think you'll ever get street tires to hook the way you want, at least get some DR's.

Once you get it hooking good, then you can really start replacing parts.
