Default Eaton or Detroit Locker Tru Track?

I'm shopping for a new differential and it looks like there are a lot of Eaton users on the forums and fewer users of the Detroit Locker Tru Track.

I've gotten the impression that the Tru Track is relatively new and maybe that's the reason for what appears to be fewer users even though I think it's about $100 to $150 less expensive.

Do any of you have experience with the Detroit Locker Tru Track?

Recommendations would be appreciated. I'll also be changing to 4.10 gears. Thanks Jim

I love my trutrack. This is the best blow up I've seen. It shows how it works and with the worm gears it will always apply equal power to both wheels yet still allow the differential to work while under power and in a turn. That is why dirt trackers have been using this design for 15 years.
Also, I have found both the eaton and the trutrack in the $340 range online.

I would not trade my Eaton for anything. There are member here using the Detroit locker and love it. Do a search on it.

Calling it a Detroit Lock tru trac is kind of deceiving. A detroit locker is different than a tru trac. For a street truck I always liked the Eaton. The tru trac is non preloaded so they dont bias torque on coast which is good for drveability but not neccesarily drag racing all the time. They are a good unit, very similar to a Torsen. It depends on what you really want, but I prefer the Eaton.

I'm refering to the Tru Track which is made by Detroit Locker. It does differ from the traditional and more race inspired Detroit Locker but I don't know how well the Tru Track performs racing or on the street.

I am using the TruTrac and have no complaints so far. It is very driveable compared to some other lockers I have driven before and locks up very nice as well. I have had mine for maybe a year and a half or two years now and have never had any problems with it so far.
