I've got a high frequency vibration most noticeable from 50-65mph. I feel it in the seat of my pants and not in a fun way. The guys that modded this ds mainly do heavy work trucks I think.

2002 Yukon, 4.10, stock small wheels/tires, 4l80e swap with a cut down stock driveshaft FWIW.

I've:
- Got an alignment
- Rebalanced the wheels/tires
- Rotated tires about
- Removed front shaft, vibration still there
- Pulled shaft and made sure the u-joints aren't too tight
- Rotated shaft 180 degrees when mounted

It's probably the driveshaft, right? Not the new converter that I whacked by accident (no dent) or the new SFI flywheel?

Part 2!

If y'all think its the driveshaft, where on the east coast should I order a proper one? I'll be doing the 1/4 at some point and don't want it to 'splode.

 

Take it to a driveshaft shop and have it balanced.

 

I went with Driveshaft Specialists out of San Antonio when I changed up to a 2 piece a few months ago. Couldn't be happier with them. Very knowledgeable, quick, and freight wasn't bad.

 

Being a short wheel base how is your driveshaft angle?? Considering you pushed the front if it back it very well could have changed it....

 

Thats a good question. I'll have to look into this.

 

X2 if you ever decide to have one built. I had them build a 5" shaft back in December for my regular cab.

 

I'm going turbo so I should probably get a good driveshaft that wont explode over 100mph.
