DRiveshaft
#1
Hey guys, I'm in need of a driveshaft pretty bad. The ears on mine are bent and a local drivtrain place was unable to balance it. WHat are my options other than the dealer? ($780) I heard from an older man once that you could get a really big hose clamp and mark the driveshaft in 4 places equally spaced around and move the screw park of the clamp to each mark and drive it. I know it sounds sketchy but I need to do something soon. thanks for your time.

Local shops range from $150+ (depending on material).
Had one built that was supposed to cost $390, but the a$$hole shop owner forgot to manually add the 0 behind the 9. End result, I paid $39.
Lucky for me I didn't pay more b/c that shaft bent up under load @ 95mph, and ripped the tailhousing & output shaft bearing of the stock 4L60E. That a$$hole rebuilt another UNBALANCED shaft, and gave it back. I took it to another shop (reputable by local racers), and he made it all better.
Retubed for $120. No vibration until I hit ~105mph, but clears up @ 110mph (I've gotten up to ~130mph in the C10 on an empty roadway).
