people that have lowered there truck usually use smaller tires. I consider you to be in the minority of folks running 20's. I would be willing to bet most folks with 20's are running a 285/50 or 275/55. those are probably the 2 most common tire sizes going on trucks/suvs with 20's. I bet Todd@discount can verify that. with those two tires you are talking a 31.2 or 32" tire. both are a healthy step up from the 30" factory tire. I personally am running the 275/55/20 goodyear on mine and plan to switch to either 275/45 or 265/50 after I wear these down. Because like you I intend to lower my truck someday although not quite as low as yours. I am thinking a 2/4 drop.

So did you notice a difference in acceleration/stopping going to a shorter tire? I bet it is easier to spin the tires with a 27" tire???? probably stops a little easier too. this is assuming you have LIGHT wheels and not heavy ones

I picked up 0.2-0.3 in the 1/8th if I remember correctly. The truck stops, handles, and ever RIDES better than stock.

I guess it's all perspective...everyone that I know w/ 20s is running low profile tires!

I plan to be in the future also. 90% of the trucks I see with 20's around here though are running massive rubber on them to fill up the fender wells. what size tire are you running? I think I can get by with a 275/45 with a 2/4 drop.

Im running Proxes ST's 295/45/20. Would you consider that minority and IMO they look better than the 50 and 55's

255/35ZR20 for now. I'm looking to upgrade the rear to a 275/35 or 285/30, or maybe even a 315/35.

I was told by a guy at Discount tire that they sell the most 20" tires in 285/50 and 275/55 that is here in Houston anyways. ALL of the 20" tires/wheels on the dealer lots here in Houston have either of those sizes. no low-pro's so that is where I gathered my opinion. and yes I would say you are a minority running that size (that means alot of people don't) I agree with you that the low pro tires look better than the 50 and 55 series. sometimes I swear my truck looks like a matchbox car with the big *** 20's with 32" tires. But I still like the 20's better than factory wheels

BTW I see your tires are almost a dead ringer for the factory diameter. did you notice any loss in acceleration or stopping by switching to that tire/wheel or did it stay about the same? those tires are WIDE.

Why wouldn't you want 20 inch drag radials? I would like to hear your thoughs on that?? Unless you have a Honda, and then you dont even need them anyhow.

3 pages later, now yuou get it.

The wheels I have are the SS 20's powdercoated black and they ended up weighing 104lbs more with tires than the stock 16's with tires. As far as braking I have to get on them harder than with the 16's but it isnt a huge difference. I havent run with the 20's at the track but as far as acceleration I felt only a small difference. I really want to see what the track times will be with the 20's just for the hell of it! The tires I have give my truck a cool stance looking from the back.
