drag suspension talk. need info

A good set of bars in the back (caltracs/assassion) and a good tire is really all you need to get into the high 1.4 in a single cab, what most people dont understand is how you put the torque to the tires is what makes the difference. Most na/n20 people try to take off with all there power and just instantly brake loose, then you see some turbo guys brake looee 30 feet out cause they take off to slow. Take off with as much power as possible then as the front end lifts keep added power, you wont brake loose once your front tires are about to come off the ground. Looser converters and managing torque is the way, good boost controllers to fade in boost or pulling timing at at launch rpm with n20/na can help with this

With my setup the only time I lose traction is when I pull power off the hit. The more power I put to it, the better it hooks. Full timing, no nitrous controller.
What I'd like to find is what type of rear shocks work best. I have a lot of split valve shocks I run with my dirt track car and wondering whether like a 5/5, 6/3 easy up or 3/6 tie down shocks would work best with the way the truck launches.. I have alot more different valved shocks as well..

Interesting thread. Im about to relocate my shocks with some adjustables. I had lowering shocks before and all my truck done was kinda bounce out the gate. Stiffness should help alot.
Interesting idea dirt track racer. Would like to know how that works out for ya. **** yours hooks pretty good for what it is.

Right now I just have air shocks, nothing special.. I would think if I could get better shocks it would get quicker.
There's two ways I'm looking at it.
With an easy up shock it would allow the back end rise faster.
With a tie down or just a heavy shock, as the suspension starts to work it would make the chassis harder to raise up, would the put more weight to the ground?

It's kind of interesting if you watch your vid it takes off nice the rear end stays level till you are a few feet out then suddenly you get a ton of separation in the rear which almost dropped the front down, did it spin then catch? The hardest thing about the longer wheel base is getting waight on the rear chassis.

No it didn't spin.. I guess just when the power starts coming in.
Here's chiefs truck, he cut a low 1.5 60'. His truck raises even higher than mine, of coarse he's hitting it with alot more power than I am.

Link doesn't work for me, I know the separation is a good thing but the idea would be to push the axle down harder instead of the chassis up, I wonder if raising the front of the truck up wouldn't help a little to get more transfer.
