Default Drag Suspension Help

Hey Everyone,

I've been lurking around this site for quite sometime and now that my build is underway I need so advice.

The vehicle is a 87 S10 Reg cab, short bed.

5.3L - Z06 Cam
4l80e
ford 8.8 w/ 3.73's posi
76MM split t6 flange 1.10a/r turbo
narrowed rear

I'm already planning on running a hefty tire, but I need suggestions on rear suspension setup. Ideas?

Chris

the split monoleaf and cal-trac bar (both by Calvert Racing) are the way to go for an S-10 unless youre wanting to get away from leafs all together.

I ran a split mono and caltracs on my 87 S10 with a 406 sbc and a 250 shot.. 28in slick.

She'd hook up pretty well on a good track.. eventually converted to a 4link but engine let loose before i had chance to mess with it much.

What width tire on the 28? And did you have a narrowed rear? How do the leafs work with a narrowed rear end

9 or 10 depending on the tire brand/wheel setup. no need to narrow.

28x10 tires are pretty much standard. shouldnt have to narrow it.

I'm only narrowing because I'm looking to see if I can get a dead hook on the street as well.. My family has some property with about a half mile of paved road on it for small airplanes to take off and land on, so we test and tune there at times.

I'd like to stay away from a tall tire, so 28in sounds good to me.

I also like the idea of the leafs... I can deal with them... I just wanna dead hook.

i dont know about dead hooking on the street, but on the track the calvert mono/traction bar is a great combo. those little trucks bite great on their own.

I like it. I'm leaning that way.
