Drag radials or not
I plan on running Nitto 305/45/18 drag radials on my truck. I wanted to get something at least close to 29" tall with good traction and at least an 18" rim so I can put some good size brakes on. It will only be driven on the street and will not have low tire pressure. Would any non-drag radial have comparable traction?

I have heard nothing but good things about Nitto. Get the Nittos.

The Nitto DR's are very good you wont be disappointed!! I think B/F Goodrich also makes some and they are about the same for traction.

I thought about getting BFG KDW's in 285/60/18 which are about 31 1/2 " diameter but they have a treadwear rating of only 300 and the Nittos's have a treadwear rating of 100 which is an indicator of the softness of the rubber. I thought the extra height of the BFG's might help give better grip because of the longer footprint but the Nitto's rubber is probably much stickier. The Nittos are about 28 1/2 " diameter. Any thoughts on how they'd compare?

Street only. But the truck will have a turbocharged big block with some serious hp.
Any info on traction of BFG or is the Nitto much better? |

The BFG I talking about are not the drag radials. They're the KDW's.
I had Nitto's, (245/50/16) on my built 02 Z-28. They were much better than the stock tires but I could still spin them with an auto trans. |
