Difference bwtween the L33 and LS4
#4
I remember reading an article from a 2007 engine masters mag that had a 383 build up using a L33 block that had been bored out to 3.905 and 4" stroke crank short block built by Shafiroff Racing. As long as you have the bores sonic tested for thickness that will tell you how big you can go.

I came across a LS4 block on ebay for 400 bucks and I would like to do a build up, I was hopping to get a LQ from mangled but he is not going to get rid if it now. I would love to get a LQ4 or 9.

dude, check craigslist. I've seen running very high mileage 6.0s sold as a core for $300. I would not bother with an aluminum block if you're planning on boring it out. If one of those sleeves cracks, you're screwed.

I have never said that you don't know anything.
