Just as i was pretty sure, the answer to my question is they don't have any real use other then piece of mind. The fins are useless if your temps never get above operating temp. And you can have a drain plug for pennies on the dollar.

The only other reason that has been brought up is the stock pan isn't the best for hard launches. Only on person said anything about this so not sure if it is true. Without baffles I am not sure any aftermarket pan would combat that much.

A little bit of extra insurance is never a bad thing but in this case it is hardly that.

The fins are there so when your moving and air goes thru the passages

Some ppl ditch the trans cooler and only use the pans in full race apps

So for you to say useless just shows your background...good day

Hell, some pans have cooling tubes through bottom for airflow. ( not a fan of this) but it would help.

So then the intelligent response would have been:

Some times in race applications the added fluid and the finned aluminum pan provides enough cooling to not run a trans cooler at all.

Do you have any pictures of a set up like this? A majority of race cars I have ever seen have a cooler with a fan.

So all of your useless trash talking posts only showes you aren't here to help but be a jerk because you foolishly think I am an idiot.

Lets keep this as a somewhat civil and productive discussion and not degrade to the point of member bashing.

If there is any confusion , please Re-Read this and " anylize " these sentences .

All your answers are right here .

Also to add , every transmission can and would benefit from a larger pan , stock or built . But like anything else in this hobby it's a matter of more money one has to spend .

I dunno, it feels like custm is being obtuse on purpose.

Your monster 80K transmission cooler force fed cold air by the biggest, giantest polar vortex CANNOT keep up with heat dissipation when you're transbraking on the line. It won't even keep up when you're going 140mph at the end of the track.

Oh, in case you actually are scratching your head, think of the number 3/16th of an inch. Eventually, you will be enlightened.
