All you need is the 1st to 2nd shift servo your shift kit will do the rest. Go onto non sponsor link it's oregon performace's site I got one from them last week and installed it over last weekend and I am amazed with the difference(ALOT firmer shift) They should only run 15 to 20 bucks. If you jack the truck high enough on the passenger side only a small amount of trans fluid will come out.

I've installed 2 of them, haven't needed the longer pin for either. I would just get the 1-2 vette servo, I'm pretty sure they don't have a 4th "vette" servo, it's billet or sonix I think for that one.

Yes the vette servo is the 2nd servo. The 4th servo's that are out there are the sonnax 4th and the superior 4th servo. There is no such thing as a vette 4th servo. I do stock the vette servo, the sonnax 2nd super hold servo and the sonnax 4th servo. If you need one feel free to give us a call. Take care, Vince.

What are the reasons for the servos though? And do i really need to buy aftermarket versions of them all, or just one of them?

they had a pic of the difference a while back.but the the easy way to explain is the inside is smaller on the pressure side and whan sending the same fluid and pressure it make a firmer and tighter band for 2nd gear.i have a billit servo i had a vette one got rid of it

I believe the billet has more holding power so it makes the shift firmer than the vette servo. I have a vette servo right now and I think that it shifts very nice.

i have lots of goodies in my tranny, but for 12$ a vette servo is the best bang for your buck mod ,you can buy in my opinion.
