Default Converting a 4L80E from 4wd to 2wd?

I found a low milege 4l80e on CL but it is a 4wd unit. How involved is the process to swap out the output shaft and housing to a 2wd unit? If I don't end up buying the 4wd unit where is the best place to find a low milege 4l80e?

As I recall from memory, in addition to the output shaft and housing, the 4WD unit will also need the rear reluctor ring for the VSS to become 2WD compatible. There may also be a difference in the lubrication orifice.

Thanks James. Probably a little more time and effort than I want to invest without knowing for sure what I'm getting into. Sounds like it's time to pick up a ATSG manual. Anyone in Nor Cal looking for a 4l80e for their 4wd swap?
