Coilovers ???

I weighed the lower arms and called ridetech to get a weight. They could only give me the shipping weight. But based on that, it looks like there is only a few pounds difference, unless the packaging is really heavy.
Probably no savings on the upper arms.
The weight advantage is gonna be in the spring. That ****** is heavy.

That is about the same information I have gotten from RideTech. I spoke with a rep at a race and he didn't know the exact weight but speculated they wouldn't be much lighter than the stock stamped steel lca.

in the most perfect of worlds, yes it would... and I've considered doing it on my 2014 but I can't justify that kind of modification on a 10 month old truck that will see limited track use.
but yes, that would work
but yes, that would work

Why the extensive fabbing? I would think you could just mount the bottom of a coilover to your strong arm and beef up the upper mount and ride? why cut the whole upper off? Weight savings???

Search around. There are several threads on this topic here and quite a few members currently running 2wd with coilovers up front.
The coilover in rear combined with leafsprings would be completely redundant and not work well together. It's pointless.

Ideally you want a double adjustable shock up front for drag racing set for a light rebound for easy front end rise and firm compression to keep the front up so it doesn't drop quickly and unload the rear. Alot of single adjustables, such as ridetech, have rebound adjustment only with a fixed compression. This can also work in drag racing if the fixed compression is stiff enough. The thing I like about the ridetech/fox is the adjustment **** on the end of the shaft which would end up in the engine bay for easy adjustment. Strong arms really are not needed with the right t-bar and a little modification to the stock control arm. They would make it nice for using a standard eye mount shock and more open area for adjustment access for shocks with lower mounted *****.
I do not see any benefit of using a coil over with leaf springs. The only way I see it working is if you use a mono-leaf for location only and use a lighter spring on the coilover. This would provide a little more height adjustment but I am not sure how the different spring rates of the leaf and coils would play together.

Blown06, what was your stock LCA weight? Ridetech ship weight of same?
slow, while u may not wanna do 4 link, just coilovers by themselves would be better for racing I'd think than 2 diff spring setups at same time, due to sheer weight alone. Plenty of fast leaf vehicles on lil tire, & fast on coilovers (4 link too) but not all at same time.
