Default coil spring help!

Alright, i took my front coil springs out to replace them with some drop ones. It appears that each side of the coil springs are a little different and I do not remember which end faces up or down. Any help would be appreciated. thx

there should be a rubber boot that will fit exactly onto the bottom side of the spring....
is this what you are asking about??
which end is up and which is down?

allright this is what I have...
soft rubber boot on top, and a hard plastic one on the bottom...
the bottom one has some kind of ribbing the contours to the spring,
hope this helps you
