Default changing broken front coil spring

Hey! So I'm changing out both of my front coil springs (because the driver side broke) Anyway I've already ordered a set of belltech 2" drop coils and rented the spring compressor.I was just wondering if their is anything I should be aware of or any little tricks you all might know. I've never done this before it looks pretty straight forward just wondering.

Thanks Jeff

With a 2" drop coil spring you probably won't need the compresser to get them in. The stock coil can be dropped out easily by removing the lower control arm bolts while supporting the control arm with a jack. Make sure the frame is supported by jackstands. Then lower the arm out and the coil will just fall out. You might have to pry out the unbroken coil. The broken coil will be easy. If you're not doing a spindle, it saves you from having to break the ball joint loose and possibly tearing the ball joint boot.

Cool thanks. The ones that im replacing are 2' drop coils as well. So you don't need to take out the bolts that hold the shock it all just drops when you lower the control arm?

No, you need to remove the shocks first! What brand coils did you have and what are you replacing them with?
