MR Marine, Could you tell us how you adjust yours? I still dont have mine where I am happy and when I start messing with them I end up making the truck want to go sideways when it breaks loose instead of straight. You running any preload on them or slightly loose? I would like to hear anything you can offer as far as advice on setting them up. You seem to know whats up with them, pulling 1.3 60ft times
Thanks,
Randy

I am down for a nor-cal track meet whenever possible. I am itchin to get my truck to the track so I can get some baseline "stock" #'s.

I have been curious about the caltracs on a 4/6 flip also.

You will have to experiment with them , but I run 0 preload on drivers and 3 flats on the passenger with the shocks set at 9 drivers 8 passenger to make it go straight.

I will start a thread in the Western section and see if we can get some people to go to Sears, closer for me too. I want to run my truck when the temps are cool.

As soon as I get my truck ready I'll be down to go too. I'm in Vallejo so Sears is close to me also.

How do these work? Are they beneficial when you are running around on crap street tires (285/50/20 GT2's) or are these only beneficial when you are running a slick or drag radial?

They are basically a bolt on ladder bar. They help with any tire.

Default great experience w/ my CalTrac bars

i have a set on my 1982 backhalved S-10. it has a Ford 9 inch with lowered springs. i still had to use 3 inch lowering blocks to get the *** down some but everything fits fine even with a 15 inch rim. you just want to make sure the bottom of the cal-trac is not lower than the wheel rim level. if it is & you lose tire pressure it will dig into the ground & you could lose control.

no they are not hard to adjust.....just loosen a lock nut & rotate the chromoly link bar.

no welding involved if they are the right ones for your application.

when i drove my s-10 for the first time it was all the difference in the world. it felt like it was on rails.
