Default C1500 Front Spring Install

Has anyone installed a front lowering spring, I've done them on cars and we always separated the lower ball joint from the spindla to release the lower control arm and then slipped in a spring compressor or lowered the lowered the control arm down slowly with a floor jacket. When I check the GM Service Manual they show that unbolt the 2 mount bolts on the control arm and they have a special tool that you can support both side with a floor jack and lower it down that way

Any suggestion would be appreciated thanks.

When I first did mine I also replaced spindles too so I guess this wont be much help. But I removed uppper and lower nuts on ball joints to remove spindle unbolted the shock and everything slid right out and the just placed the new coil back in.
