BOOM!! Time to pick a transmission

Haha.. He's really gonna be confused now that you've thrown the 6L80E in there. He's not gonna know which way to go. lol. It's nice to see people help out here, this seems to be one of the best forums out there..
Is there a parts list out there for an 80E swap? I'm sure there's gotta be one somewhere. I know the sticky provided good info.

Rench you are right.. So many options lol.. Which is good I guess. The 6L80E is cheaper than the 4L80E according to car-parts in my area. This seems like a way more complicated swap though but I could be wrong. The gauge cluster and things would be something to tackle. So I guess I am leaning toward a 4L80E over a 60, and now that I have to research a 6L80e swap I have another late night on my hands. As long as I do it right the first time i'll be happy with that. Thanks for the helps guys, back to research

Ive been convinced on performabuilt, but only because theres only been one bad thread on them. You can find bad press on everyone else easily, but it took a lot of googling to find someone with anything negative about performabuilt.
I'd just run a 80e w/shift kit myself. Grab a junkyard one and a transgo and then save more to get it rebuilt if you ever wear it out. There is really no reason not to use an 80 except for parasitic drivetrain losses. Theres too many people here that can justify to a 60 being only a matter of time before they explode, that then throw in an junkyard 80 and run it for years after several built 60s in a year or two.

As far as performabuilt they make a great working transmission when they hold together. Im on number 4 from them. They have been really easy to work with but im sick of my truck being down for weeks at a time while they fix it. My warrenty is up and if it breaks again im going with a local build or an 80e. Again their transmissions (mine in sig) are great and VERY responsive but with the amount of power im putting down....there is no reason for this many issues.
